Backyard Pond with Waterfall

In prior years we had done other landscaping work for this homeowner, including landscape drainage and sod installation. They now wanted a koi pond complete with a waterfall and soothing water sounds.

We installed the pond using hand-picked river boulders to create a natural border and the waterfall. The pond included hiding tunnels for the fish to hide from prey, and appropriate plant material to provide the necessary shade.

An auto level control device was also installed to control the water level of the pond. The waterfall and an aeration device ensure that the water is properly oxygenated and that algae spores are disturbed. Additionally, we installed a UV sterilizer that provides ultraviolet lighting to further control any algae growth.

The result was a beautiful pond that provided an environment for the fish to thrive, and the natural water sounds the homeowner wanted.
